Attorney Bashi attended Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina, where he became a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and earned a Bachelor of Science degree with concentrations in Business and Human Resource Management. After completing his undergraduate studies, he went on to attend Charlotte School of Law, where he actively participated in volunteer work. Additionally, Attorney Bashi completed two internship programs: the first with a U.S. Senator, gaining valuable insight into the inner workings of the U.S. government, and the second as a case manager for Nexus Programs in Fairfax, Virginia, which further deepened his understanding of immigration issues. In 2015, he passed the North Carolina bar exam and obtained his license. He then formally began his legal career, leveraging his prior experience in immigration and government affairs.

In 2018, Attorney Bashi took the initiative to establish Bashi Law, PLLC, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Cynthia Martinez – Office Manager and Lead Paralegal

Cynthia Martinez was born in Nuevo León, Mexico, the middle child of three. She immigrated to the United States with her family when she was two. Her parents fostered in her a deep love of learning and knowledge in all its forms.

In 2011, Cynthia became involved with the NC Dream Team, participating in acts of civil disobedience in Charlotte, NC, and in 2012 at the NC General Assembly in Raleigh, NC, advocating for the human rights of immigrant communities across North Carolina.

Cynthia discovered her passion for law in her first legal position, and her enthusiasm and fervor grew further when she joined another firm in 2014, where she focused on learning about the Federal Justice system. She quickly grasped the complexities of how the system operated, particularly in the Eastern District of North Carolina, where she was mentored by an attorney who instilled in her a passion for knowledge and a strong conviction to always find ways to help clients.

Shortly after, Cynthia joined a non-profit organization with a rapid response system for individuals detained in Louisiana. There she was deeply moved by the harrowing stories of individuals fleeing violence, death threats, sexual exploitation, and other horrors in their home countries. Under the guidance of an attorney, Cynthia successfully assisted a Nicaraguan national seeking political asylum, helping him win his case and gain refuge in the U.S., a milestone that ignited her passion for helping others.

Upon completion of her contract with the rapid response group, Cynthia collaborated with local attorneys, expanding her expertise in areas such as civil litigation, business immigration, family-based immigration law, and SIJS custody at the state level. Her experience working with vulnerable populations, along with her extensive legal knowledge, enables her to contribute meaningfully to the firm’s mission.

With a deep understanding of the challenges faced by immigrant communities, Cynthia is driven by a desire not only to help represent clients with empathy and expertise but also to continue expanding her legal knowledge and skills.

Cynthia Martinez now works as a lead paralegal at Bashi Law, PLLC, where she brings her diverse background and legal experience to the firm. In addition to her paralegal responsibilities, she also serves as office manager, ensuring the office runs smoothly and efficiently.
